Green Monday: New Sun Chips Bag!

We love Sun Chips, it is yummy, healthy and now, they made the bag biodegradable and it helps the environment. Some critics say that the bag is very noisy when you touches it, opens it or closes it! Who cares about the noises. As long as it is healthy and is good for the environment, right! If people want to "go green" they need to be willing to make sacrifices. I would think that having an annoying noisy bag would be a small price to pay for biodegradable packaging. I say, "You’ll never look at your snacks the same again once you see Frito-Lays’ 100% compostable chip bag!"

There’s something magical about the thought of eating an entire bag of chips during your midnight munchies craving, and instead of throwing the bag away in the trash, you throw it into your compost pile…don’t you think? I do, and that’s why I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Frito-Lay’s new SunChips 100% compostable chip bags.

It took 4 years of research and numerous field trials to make the 100% compostable bag, but SunChips finally did it! So, how did they do it? The company created the bags by using renewable, plant-based PLA plastic, which fully breaks down in compost in just 14 weeks.
