Shopping Early for Christmas

Last Christmas, we bought a remote control car for our son as a gift on Christmas day. And he really like it. The car was so neat that it does a lot of thing like flipping over and stuff that other remote control cars don't do. Our nephew, Cody got the same gift from us and both of them played it with so much fun! I am pretty sure that Grant would like to have one, too. We better but him one for Christmas so he won't fell bad not having one since he is old enough to operate it. I know it is too early yo buy him gift but I don't want to be one of those people who do shop for gift on last minute. Stress is one thing I don't want to get during holiday season.

A Busy Week Ahead of Us!

It's been awhile since I had my last visit with our family physician and I will be in trouble if I don't make an appointment for me soon. And so I did make an appointment for me and my son next week. I feel sorry for my husband who will spend his three days off accompanying us during our doctors visit. Our appointment will be on Tuesday morning at 9am. Monday would be my appointment for my day surgery on Wednesday. During those days, we could be doing fun things together like going to San Antonio, Texas or maybe camp somewhere where the weather is cool. Oh well, maybe next year we could do that. It would be nice if we could go to Utah to attend the semi-annual general conference. Till then, we will make ourselves busy with my son who will be attending 2nd grade this year :-)!

Fun Time with Friends

Yesterday, my son and I went to see our friends that lives in our neighborhood. Their house is not really far; I can even walk there if I want to, but it was too hot outside! So, we drove down there to do some fun things like card games, while the kids are playing wii and some toys. I tell you, we had a blast! There were plenty of foods like pizza, rotisserie chickens, my favorite Filipino dish and the dish I made that every Filipino loves which was Pancit (sauteed' noodles). My friend's husband was very supportive the whole time were there. I wished we could do it more often.

Back to Blogging

I know it's been awhile since I posted my last personal entry here and I apologize to all my readers for that. Between my health issues, family life and our recent visit to my native land (Philippines)...blogging has been put aside, thus making the rank of my page down from PR2 to PR1. It is sad, but that is one thing I need to accept and work on to get it back. If I will not do anything about it, I would eventually lose those loyal advertisers such as the 3P's and SS. I need to write more and get my blog readers back. This blog needs traffic and visitors who will be interested on reading and leaving comments that are very helpful in the success of my blogging career :-)!

Camping Out In The Backyard

Last weekend, hubby and I decided to camp out in our backyard because our little one has been begging us to go camping somewhere. Since the school is not over yet, and the weather has been nice lately, we camped out this Sunday night. Our little one was very happy. We put up our tent, and cooked some hotdogs while gazing up in the sky. Last night, he wanted us to sleep outside again since the tent is still up; oh well, it was really cold last night so we told him when the temp. warms up a little bit, then we will camp again...and he understood.

Here am I, I slept in the tent by myself 'cause they wanted to sleep outside with their cots.
The little man trying to decided whether he will sleep outside or inside the tent, lol!
Never seen my hubby make faces; this was his first time and I didn't even know it till I saw this photo :-)!
Jake with his fave stuffed toy :-)...in front of the fire.
Our campsite :-); noticed the cots outside? Yup, that's where they slept alright!

Hulagway sa Kinabuhi: Higala

I am back with my entry for Hulagway sa Kinabuhi. It is hard for me to remember words in Bisayan language anymore since I don't speak this languang as much as I want to for I don't have many friends here in Texas who speak Bisaya. Good thing I remember this one 'higala" which means 'friend.' So here is my share. We are going to Philippines soon and these are my friends I miss most; and I'll make sure to visit them while we are there. A moth would be enough for me to see these close friends of mine.

Malou from Imus, Cavite.
Cielo from Las Pinas.
Vicky from Nueva Ecija.
Emily from Manila
And Ate Bessie from Laguna. Mao na sila akong mga higala nga na miss nako. Ampo lang nako na nagkinitaay mi tanan pag abot nako sa Pilipinas :-).

Green Monday: New Sun Chips Bag!

We love Sun Chips, it is yummy, healthy and now, they made the bag biodegradable and it helps the environment. Some critics say that the bag is very noisy when you touches it, opens it or closes it! Who cares about the noises. As long as it is healthy and is good for the environment, right! If people want to "go green" they need to be willing to make sacrifices. I would think that having an annoying noisy bag would be a small price to pay for biodegradable packaging. I say, "You’ll never look at your snacks the same again once you see Frito-Lays’ 100% compostable chip bag!"

There’s something magical about the thought of eating an entire bag of chips during your midnight munchies craving, and instead of throwing the bag away in the trash, you throw it into your compost pile…don’t you think? I do, and that’s why I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Frito-Lay’s new SunChips 100% compostable chip bags.

It took 4 years of research and numerous field trials to make the 100% compostable bag, but SunChips finally did it! So, how did they do it? The company created the bags by using renewable, plant-based PLA plastic, which fully breaks down in compost in just 14 weeks.

Green Monday: Honda Element

I know it's been awhile since I posted my last entry. I have been very busy lately that I couldn't find time to update all my blog regularly all at the same time. With the school activities, and doctor's appointment, our life is like a chaos. Good thing before going to bed, I remembered that I need to join this meme again...so here it is.

The photos are taken during our camping trip at Shenandoah Mountain in VA. We had fun driving this Honda Element car whcih we sold right before our move to TX.

Me with our Honda Element car during one of our trip to one of VA's Sate Park.

Easter Egg Hunting with Mommy and Jake

About two weeks ago, my friend and I went egg hunting here in our neighborhood with our boys. We had a blast especially the boys for the got to play together, joined the games and activities, and get some eggs.

Jake with his friend and classmate, Aaron....before the egg hunting time.
Mommy posed with the Easter Bunny, too!
They didn't find the 'gold' egg though. Disappointed, yes they were, but still happy.

After the egg hunting, Jake and I went to eat our lunch at Chick Fillet and then shopped at nearby Walmart. As you can see, he enjoyed the chicken nuggets and waffle fries. I filled myself up with soup and fruits.

We Love The Freschetta By The Slice Pizza!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA®. All opinions are 100% mine.

Thanks to the makers of Freschetta pizza for giving me the chance to try their new Freschetta By the Slice pizza. I tell you, this pizza is so good! I love the 6 piece storage set, too :-)! And they are all free! Okay, here is my verdict; please read on...

As I always say, pizza night is Friday night at our home. Just now, my son and I had FRESCHETTA® By the Slice which is oh so good! I baked two of them in the oven for 18 minutes and gobbled them like we never have eaten pizza before. And for the first time, my son ate the whole thing. Normally, he doesn't eat the crust, but this time he ate it because he said it is very yummy! He had the Six Cheese medley and I had the Vegetable medley. I love it...for the crust is very crunchy and oh the sauce is very tasty and the veggies are fresh and tasted sweet! at home, hubby and son love the thin crust...while I prefer the stuffed crust. But when I tasted the Freschetta By the Slice thin crust pizza, I started to like thin crust. Before when we order pizza, we always get two, one with a thin crust and the other one with either stuffed crust or the hand tossed crust. But with the Freschetta pizza or Freschetta by the slice, it is dif
ferent. The thin crust is very good!

The best thing I like about this Freschetta by the slice is that, I can satisfy my cravings for pizza without getting overboard with the who pizza itself, plus I can choose different variety of flavors, from Vegetable medley, six cheese medley, BBQ Recipe Chicken to Chicken, Spinach and Mushrooms. Isn't ot great!?

So, if you want to taste this very irresistible Freshetta by the slice pizza, you need to check them out on check out FRESCHETTA® on Twitter at @FreschettaPizza at www.facebook.com/freschettapizza.com. Hurry for this promo will end soon! And oh, you can get storage set, too free!

Cheese and Apple Sandwich

For those who have kids that goes to school I am sure you have the same problem like I have when it comes to preparing lunch for them. My son sometimes tells me that he gets bored with the sandwich I make for him. He is so burned up with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, bologna sandwich and so on. I am sorry, that is all I can think of. Then one day, while reading a magazine, I came across an article about lunch for kids. It talks about sandwiches that kids will surely love; one of my favorite is the 'cheese and apple sandwich.'

Link

Ingredients:
2 slices of bread (preferably multigrain, Italian, or French)
1 teaspoon whole-grain mustard
1 ounce thinly sliced cheddar
several pieces of thinly sliced apple

Directions:
Spread 2 slices of bread with whole-grain mustard. Top 1 slice with Cheddar and several pieces of apple. Sandwich with the remaining bread.

Postcards from Around the World

I love blogging. I find joy in doing it. I can express my thoughts and feelings through it. I make new friends, learn new things. Blogging even helps me be more familiar with computer techniques and more. It's been four years since A friend of mine persuaded me to start and try blogging. Since then, I have come to love it. It became a hobby that is harder to break! From two blogs....to six blogs now; I don't even know how I manage to maintain all six of them. With six blogs, I became a stay at home Mom who is now earning an extra money from making paid posts. Who would have thought that I'll make money doing my hobby? I'll say, that blogging has helped me a lot!

When you blog, there are many things you can do with your blog or website. You control everything. You can write whatever you want and posts whatever pleases you and your readers. Memes are my fave things to posts for they serve as an intermediate posts for the paid posts. I love meme, too! Anyway, a new meme has just started and it is about postcards where you will have to posts a postcard of a place from anywhere in the globe. I haven't join this meme yet but is planning to. First, I need to buy postcards online where they print them in any size and theme I want to. This website offers a lot of things, too aside from postcards; they also offer business cards and more.

GM: Our First House

This is our first house; hubby and I bought it six months after we got married. We were paying too much for our apartment rent and if we add two hundred bucks, then we can pay for a house payment. So, we took the first step and bought this house we so loved and adored. Sold it when we moved to VA due to hubby's job. I still miss this house though because of the memories we shared there....aside from the amount of time, money and efforts we put into it.

My share on Green Monday this week!

Elegant Fake Flowers and Plants

Flowers add beauty to homes, offices, hospitals, churches and anywhere you can think of. Fresh flowers are great, but they can be very expensive. Plus they didn't last long! They will be wilted in a couple of days or so. And when it is wilted, it is no good but needs be thrown down the trash can. I love flowers and house plants but they just die on me. I don't know what to do to keep them alive. My orchids was the first one that left me, then the fern followed by the miniature roses :-(. Good thing I still have the African violets, aloe vera and geranium.

Anyway, talking about fresh flowers, There is a place that sells Fake plant. But you will never noticed the plants are artificial because they don't look like one. Mainly because they are made on high quality material like silk and the finest materials. Faux flower will never wilt nor die. I like that it can be used over and over again and doesn't require maintenance. I don't have to worry of whom will water of it when I'll be out of town. I like the look of these fake flowers and plants for they look elegant! Plus the shape stays the same....and the color never fades.

GT: Cry Me a River

I still cry every time I hear or sing this song for it reminds me and my husband when we lost our first baby through stillborn. Every lyrics of this song is what exactly we felt when we were grieving for our lost. I remember thinking, "this is not real/true, this can't be happening, this isn't happening. I remember both of us crying out, I remember Matt crying out, I remember him holding me, and both of us sobbing." On that moment our bereaved life changes in the instant."I still cry every time I think of her... and blames myself for I think that it was all my fault why she died. The doctor tried to explain with me that it wasn't my fault or the things I did or didn't do.I love her so much! Though I know we would be able to be reunited with her someday, knowing that she not here, makes me feel empty still. She was back to Heavenly Father for a reason of which I don't know...but am sure she is happy that we are doing our here on earth just to be with her someday! I know that "Families Can Be Together Someday."

"ONE MORE DAY"
sung by: Rocket Club Band

I'll never get to hold you
I'll never hear your sweet voice sing
I'll never get to say 'I told you so'
I'll never read to you, or get to teach you anything
But you'll always be my hope
You'll always be my first light
You're always gonna be Daddy's little girl
You'll always be the strength I need to make it in this world
I only wish for one more day
I'm gonna miss your first day of school
I'll never see you turn that page
I'll never see you in your graduation gown
And I'm never gonna see you coming of age
But you'll always be my hope
You'll always be my first light
You're always gonna be Mommy's little girl
You'll always be the strength I need to make it in this world
I only wish for one more day
Sweet angel of mercy
Coming down to comfort me
Faith, sit right here beside me
I never want you to go away
I'm always gonna wonder how you'd look
Always gonna wish I took your place up there
You'll always be our hope
You'll always be our first light
You're always gonna be our little girl
You'll always be the strength we need to make it in this world
We only wish for one more day
We only wish for one more day."

Green Monday: My Houseplants

These are my indoor plans. Took pictures of them while they are still alive; so far they are all still alive, but the orchids :-(. For whatever reason it died on me...I did the best I could to keep it alive, but it died still. No more orchids for me now :-).

Orchids, fern, African violet, miniature roses, and aloe vera.
Forgot the name of this :-(.
Geranium, hubby's fave.
The weeping tree.
Can't remember the name of it.
And this one, too! Anyway, this is my share for GM this week. Join us by clicking the badge below.
